Lumalight 2000 and SE Elite Maintenance / Operating Instructions 2008

Important notice prior to using your new Lumalight SE
Ensure your hands are relatively clean and free of hand creams and oils of any type (i.e. essential oils) when handling your Lumalight SE penlight and lenses as it can damage the lenses and effect the penlight.

Batteries
Batteries will periodically need changing and we recommend using a high quality AA battery to avoid possible erosion; positive ends go in first. To store your Lumalight for a period of time, take out the batteries for the same reason. We do not recommend rechargeable batteries as it can overheat penlight and do not mix batteries brands together.

Lenses
The other possible replacement are the color lenses, which, with proper care should last for many years. Do not get oil on the lenses, use abrasive cleaners or cloth or drop them on a hard surface. If you accidentally break a lens we can replace them at a per lens charge. We will require the year of purchase to ensure proper fit on your penlight. You can also order additional lenses to expand your Lumalight set. The lenses are made to snap on and stay on with normal use. The O rings may vary and offer different fittings (tension) on penlight in one set.

To clean the lenses
Use a flannel cloth and a little rubbing alcohol. The lenses are made to snap on and stay on with normal use. You can also clean the penlight (take batteries out first) with rubbing alcohol.

To clean the penlight barrel (take out batteries first)
Lumalight 2000 Series: Use a flannel cloth and rubbing alcohol.
Lumalight SE Series: This series has a special finish on the penlight. Use a flannel cloth with a glass cleaner or to re-polish penlight use a metal polish once/twice a year (maximum)

Geometric Amplifiers
The geometric screen amplifiers are very fragile and should be handled with care. Store them under the foam where the Lumalight penlight rests in the box. You can tap the lens cap on a soft surface to remove the screen.

O-Rings
The black O-rings, which holds the lens in place (top of penlight) may deteriorate over the years. You can order replacement O-rings.

Light Source
Y
ou will need to change the bulb from time to time. They are 2.3 or 2.4 Volt miniature light bulbs. Any other voltage( i.e. 1.1 or 3.6 ) will drain the bulb/batteries very quickly. These bulbs can be sourced in specialty lighting stores or purchased directly from Spectrahue. We sell them in packages of five or ten.

Trouble Shooting
If the bulb begins to flicker on/off, remove top part of penlight and gently tighten bulb to connect to batteries. Alternatively unscrew battery cap and stretch the spring and replace back in cap. This spring ensures there is a connection with battery and bulb.

Travel
We would recommend you carry your Lumalight in your carry-on luggage to avoid breakage of lenses. However, the red oak carrying case is very durable. Do not leave your Lumalight set in direct heat/sunshine for a long period of time.
